"I can get through anything if I know there's a good book waiting for me at the end of the day." – Carla Dee Morris

I was born and raised in Spokane, Washington but have spent the majority of my life in Utah. I received my B.A. and Masters from Brigham Young University. I worked in a public library setting for the past 33 years specializing in children's and early literacy programs.

I served on the American Library Association Caldecott Committee in 2004 and chaired the Theodore Geisel Committee in 2013.

I have three children and three grandchildren. I enjoy cooking and going out for mexican food. I’m a big fan of theater and seeing movies on the big screen.

Strangely I love to clean, organize, and redecorate.  (it's the librarian thing)

I live in Mapleton, Utah.
